Beyond the pristine beaches and gorgeous sunrises exists a small town with a big appetite for arts and culture. Historic downtown Stuart and the surrounding area are brimming with an array of performance art, culture and leisure attractions to satisfy the most discerning art lover.

There is always something entertaining happening in town, and the choices are incredibly unique and fun-filled. A wide variety of local events attract visitors from around Florida for arts and music festivals, boat shows, air shows, culinary events and car and antique festivals. Large traveling exhibits often come to Stuart and art galleries lining the streets often feature the work of local artists. Don’t forget our close proximity to I-95 makes it easy partake in the rich cultural activities of the Palm Beaches including the world-class Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Flagler Museum and the Norton Gallery to name a few.

Get a taste of history at the Elliot Museum on Hutchinson Island or downtown Stuart’s Heritage Museum, filled with fascinating photos, documents and artifacts from the town’s earliest days and most colorful characters. Just down the street, you’ll find The Lyric Theatre, which hosts over 300 events each year and features the performing arts, special film screenings and lectures. The art shops and galleries surrounding the Lyric display artists’ works from around the world, in a variety of mediums.
